yourai chat

Chat in the terminal. If the AI isn't running, it offers to start it. Commands: /reset clears the conversation, /help lists commands, and /exit quits.

The agent

With [agent] enabled = true (the default for new projects), the model can use tools:

  • list_files and read_file — text, code, Markdown, and PDF files in agent.workspace (the project folder by default).
  • write_file — only with agent.allow_write = true. It shows a preview and asks you before every write.
  • generate_image, generate_video, speak, and transcribe — when those capabilities are on.

The agent can't leave the workspace, follow symlinks out of it, or read .yourai/, where your API key lives. Limit the tools with agent.tools, for example yourai config set agent.tools read_file,generate_image. Small models sometimes answer without using a tool; 7B and larger models use them reliably.

Pictures and audio

With a vision model (Qwen2.5-VL, Gemma 3) or an omni model (Qwen2.5-Omni), attach a file to your next message with /image photo.jpg or /audio question.wav, then type your question. /files lists what the agent can see.
